Happy St. Patty’s Day!Well, today is St. Patty’s Day, so I thought I would share a super-fun craft we did for our Mother/Daughter shamrock party last week!
Remember Shrinky Dinks?????
If you do, you’re probably old like me (or older :)

Anyhoo, I got some Grafix shrink film from Joanns and I made this CA-UTE shamrock pin!

It’s soooooo easy!

Other than the shrink film, you will need:

Permanent markers like these or sharpies (they have ALL sorts of colors these days!)

Some pin-backs

And some parchment paper for when you bake it

Start by cutting out your shapes. I used my Cricut and the deep cut blade. But, you will have to go over it twice to cut it out completely.

Now, color it how you want it.

Make sure you write the letters nice and LARGE.

Now turn a cookie sheet on it’s back and lay down a sheet of parchment paper on top and your shape on that.

I put cookie sheet upside down so I could lay 2 sheets on top of the shape the keep it flat and from curling up on itself while baking.
Now bake that puppy at around 300 for a few minutes (3-5) and then let it cool.
You can roll a glass over it while it’s hot if it needs to be flattened a little right after baking.

Now, attach a pin-back to it and embelish with a little ribbon (or whatever else you have lying around).

Rainbow cupcakes!!

You can find these here, or just take a white cake mix and prepare as directed. Then, divide the batter up into 6 bowls (or how many you want). And color the batter different colors of the rainbow. I used gel coloring and it works waaaayyyy better, since it won’t water down your batter and you get VERY nice vibrant colors!
Since my helpers were my sweet little girls……we ended up with hot pink, blue, yellow, purple, red, and green :)
Then, just evenly distribute the batter in layers in your cupcake papers. And voila!!
It was cute topped with white frosting and green sprinkles :)
Have fun!
