It’s no secret that our youngest, Kira is very active….in fact she is a sensory seeking kiddo and needs to keep her hands busy……all.the.time.
So when I went searching for something to help keep her little hands busy during church, I saw this idea floating all over the blogosphere and the light bulb went off!
I went ahead and painted mine first, and love how it looks this way!
First, you need to go out and get jumbo popsicle sticks and circle Velcro spots. I got the clear ones cuz I wanted them to blend in a little.
I made a set of 40, and I needed 2 sets of Velcro circles for each stick…..so 80 sets total.
I got some shallow boxes from SamsClub to use for spray painting this craft….they worked perfectly! I put a little roll of painters tape on the bottom of each stick to keep them from moving or blowing over while I sprayed them.
First, I sprayed a coat of primer….since these are very porous and would just absorb the paint right up! The primer makes it so the paint sticks and I only needed one coat.
Then, flip them and do the other side.
Once dry, just stick on the Velcro circles, 4 on each stick (2 sets per stick)…..and voila! You have a super fun toy you can take anywhere to keep little hands busy.
I put these in a cute drawstring bag I made and threw them in my Sunday bag.
My older 2 girlies loved them right away too, so I’m glad I made a big set so they can all play together.
These would also make great gifts and stocking stuffers!
Hope your kiddos have fun with these too!….I Even got down on the floor and played :)
