I love Valentine’s Day. It’s a fun day we get to spread the love around to everyone we know, and who doesn’t need a little more love in their life? I remember looking forward to Valentine’s parties at school and how fun it was to make little mailboxes and then give out little cards to all my classmates.
Today I want to show you these adorable hand-stamped muslin bags and just how easy it is to make them and pack up your little treats in. These are awesome for the kiddos to hand out in class, give to the neighbors or bring to the peeps you visit teach.
Supplies:
~Muslin Bags~ You can get these at my brand-new shiny Etsy store here in 2 sizes!
~Valentine stamps~ The first ones are from Michaels and the next are from Close to my Heart
`Ink pads~ I used Colorbox brand (read more about it below)
~Treats and toys!
Start with your bags….these ones are 4×6 & 5×7 sizes. You can get both at my Etsy store.
It helps if you slide a piece of card stock inside before stamping, so the ink doesn’t bleed through to the other side….and it helps you get a clearer impression.
Get your stamp ready…I like the clear ones so I can see where I’m stamping.
Ink it up really good (I mean it….really good), and stamp away.
Now for the next one.
All done! So easy and too cute!!
Here’s another one I did on the 5×7 bag.
Load them up with all sorts of goodies!
This bag has peanut butter M & Ms……Mmmmmm! My favorite!
*About the ink*
~To stamp on fabric, you need thick, slow-drying ink….otherwise it will bleed.
~The brand that worked best for me was Colorbox (pigment). Even 2 days later, no bleeding
~This ink won’t hold up in the wash….you’ll need to look around for another type for that or use fabric paint
I just got my Etsy store up, so check back often and I’ll be adding new stuff each week!
Have fun!
