Frozen Themed Sewn Paper Party Garland Party~Part 1

Frozen Themed Sewn Paper Party Garland By: NotSoIdleHands.com

Well, these days have been full of party planning for one of my kiddos….have you seen the pattern in my posts yet? She wants a Frozen themed party, so I’ve been up to my eyeballs in ice blue and purple {and Olaf}.

One of the decorations I wanted to make is a cute and easy paper circle garland to hang in our living room for the festivities. These are SO easy peasy to make….you won’t even believe it!

Supplies:

Card stock paper {I used 2 shades of ice blue and 2 shades of purple}

Circle punch {mine is 2″ diameter}

Matching thread

Ribbon for each end {8 inches}

I started by cutting my paper into strips a little larger than my circles to make it faster to punch the circles. For a 6′ garland I needed about 30~35 circles….there was about 1/4″ in between each circle.

I made four 13′ garlands…..so I needed a LOT of circles {this is good to do while watching the ‘ol boob tube}.

Take one of your ribbons and fold it in half and then sandwich it between 2 circles.

Now start sewing! {remember to back stitch when you start} Sew the ribbon in place and then keep going.

Keep sewing and keep sliding in more circles….make sure to leave 2~3 stitches in between each circle so they’re not right next to each other. At the other end, just do that same as you started with ribbon folded in half sandwiched between 2 circles.

And the handles on each end make it simpler to hang up.

I LOVE these and now I want to make some for every single occasion ’round here! Like: lost teeth, new haircuts, and even weekends we get to sleep in {what colors would you use for that?}!

Have fun!
