It always surprises me once Halloween is over and suddenly the days get chillier and it’s the season for gift~giving. I feel a tightness in my chest and hyperventilate a bit when I start thinking about all the things that need to be done and all the awesome peeps I want to show appreciation for with some fun little things {you know who you are!}. But luckily there are about a million {give or take} cute things like this that are easy and inexpensive to make to help show your gratitude to those special lovelies in your life.
I love these too! Not only am I addicted to magnets….see here and here, I have a bunch on the side of my fridge for clipping chip & candy bags….hmmmm maybe I should also cut back in the junk food too. Give these to the college student in your life too for hanging up wet laundry when they’ve run through their quarter for the dryer. I showed these a few years back already, but wanted to show them again with new cute paper. Here’s how:
Supplies:
Clothespins {duh} check out the Dollar Tree or the laundry section in any store
Cute Paper scraps or Washi Tape
Mod Podge/decoupage
Super Strong Magnets {called neodymium….get them on Etsy!!}
E6000 glue
Gather your clothespins and magnets….I have noticed that the clothespins vary in width and length, so you need to measure the ones you get when you cut the strips of paper for them. But, you will probably need the 3/8″ magnets for these.
*Just know these magnets are called SUPER strong for a reason*
Cut a bunch of strips of cute paper. Remember, paper with large images might not work well since these are so small and thin.
Slap some Mod Podge on and add your paper. Smooth out well and let dry.
Then, put on 1 or 2 coats on top after it’s dry.
Or…..use some adorable washi tape! Stick it on there and cut off the excess. You can put a few coats of Mod Podge on these too, to protect them.
Grab your trusty {and well used} tube of E6000 glue and put a small dot on the back and add your magnet. This stuff works great….but *keep the magnets far away from each other till they dry*
Cute! This is also a great way to let the magnets dry on the back without attracting to each other.
Just cut out some kraft paper and stamp something cute on it and now you’ve got a great presentation for your pretty gift.
Here are the ones I made with washi tape….you can find this stuff in my Etsy Shop too!
Now you can start on your list!
Have fun!

These are cool. I will make some for my sister as a gift for her classroom. I know as a teacher she will use these a lot. I wish i had them when i was a teacher instead of plain clothes pins!
Thanks! Yeah, I don’t like using “plain” clothespins either LOL
